About Shannon
Shannon procured a love of the arts at a very young age. Her dance training started at the prestigious Ballet Theatre of Scranton. There, Shannon studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. She was also lucky enough to have trained at the Turi Studio in South Scranton, where she furthered her dance education through the study of Flamenco dancing. Ethnic dancing was, and continues to be, a very important part of Shannon's dance edification. She first studied Irish Step dancing at the Irish Cultural Society in Scranton. As a quick study, Shannon excelled immediately and became Co-director of the Irish Cultural Society Step Dancers while still in high school. Also, while in high school, Shannon choreographed productions for the Scranton Prep Players. Just before graduating from high school Shannon received the opportunity to study with the most will-know Irish Step dancing troupe in the world, River Dance. This was only the beginning of great happenings in Shannon's professional life. While attending Duquesne University and majoring in both early developmental psychology and business law, Shannon received scholarship monies from the world-renowned, Duquesne University Tamburitzans. Traveling to every corner of the United States and performing with many of the greatest talents from all over the world, the Tamburitzan experience offered Shannon a new perspective on performing as a professional. She is a senior member of the Red Shoes Dance Company here in Scranton, Pennsylvania and also taught dance at the Civic Ballet Center in downtown Scranton.
